Margaret Mary Peters - Obituary

Margaret Mary "Peggy" Peters (née Burke) peacefully passed away on June 10, 2024, at the age of 86 in Annapolis, MD. She was born in Newark, NJ. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert T. Peters, and her parents, James and Bridget Burke. Peggy graduated from Belleville High School in 1955. After high school, Peg worked at Bell Atlantic until 1959. She worshipped at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchellville, MD and St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Annapolis, MD. Peggy loved to travel, play Bridge and spend time with her grandchildren. Along with supporting Bob with a new business from 1967 to his retirement in 2004 and raising her children, she served her community. Peg was active in the Kettering Civic Association, integral in the establishment of the Kettering Swim Club. and very active at Holy Family Catholic Church. These communities provided our family and friends with wonderful memories. As an only child, Peg fostered and nurtured life long friendships with the Cascades. These amazing women were more like family providing all of us with special times and great memories. She will be dearly missed by her children, Robert S. Peters (Vicki Stocker Peters), Jeffrey J. Peters, Gregg M. Peters, and Leigh Ann Stevens. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren, Loghan Peters, Brandon Peters, Jake Stevens, and Ryleigh Stevens, daughter-in-law Diane Peters, brother-in-law Joseph Peters (Toni Peters), and nine nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401, on July 10, 2024, at 10:30 am, followed by a repast at Maggiano's Little Italy, 2100 Annapolis Mall Rd, Annapolis, MD 21401. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the Mia Sutphin Foundation. Condolences may be made by using the Memories link on this page.
