argaret Louise Redmond passed away at the age of 97 on Tuesday morning at the Fort Washington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Margaret was born to her parents, Clara and Otto Keull on November 31, 1922 in Washington DC. There were also 4 other siblings born to that union, i.e., 2 boys and 2 girls. Margaret's immediate family preceded her in death. Two husbands also preceded her in death, Frederick Becker and Marvin Redmond, respectively. Margaret attended DC public schools ending with Eastern High School in the late 1930s. Margaret was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife and friend over the long course of her life. She committed and invested much of her time to Alanon and Alcoholics Anonymous support programs. By way of these services to humanity, she developed and fine tuned her passion and skill for helping people in need. She was always willing to listen and provide counsel to those who were in need of guidance, support and prayer. Margaret was the primary caretaker of her family for many decades. Yet, through it all, she never complained. She would always say " I just do what needs to be done for my family and I thank God I am able to do it! " Margaret was also an avid animal lover and caretaker. She seemed to have a whisperer type of persona with animals and they knew she was there to help and not hurt them. She called the care of animals "God's Work" and she took great care and pride in doing His work. Margaret was an amazing health enthusiast. She enjoyed eating healthy and staying in shape. Healthy living was a primary hallmark of her being. As a testament to her enduring health, at the age of 93, Margaret walked the full span of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, i.e., from MD to VA and back to MD. She worked out at least 3 times a week, cut her grass, picked up seeds to feed the birds, and shopped at will, often. She was always very active getting things done. Over the past 8 years she lived alone, but never felt alone because of her amazing and awesome neighbors! She always spoke of prepared meals being passed over the fence, grass being cut, snow being shoveled, etc.. That level of neighborly care and love is very rare and Margaret knew she was blessed above most to have such caring and loving neighbors. Margaret is survived by a host of friends and neighbors that will surely miss her kind, loving, and angelic presence. Of note, her birds have stopped feeding since Margaret last walked away from her home on August 23, 2020. If you can not make it to the Funeral Service, please connect to the service via ZOOM online.
