argaret H. Riley, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, her 91st birthday, in Annapolis, MD. Born Margaret E. Hall on May 25, 1934, in Harwood, MD, to Roland T. and Cora S. Hall, she lived a life rich in love, faith, and dedication to others. A graduate of Southern High School in Lothian, MD, Class of 1952, Margaret continued her education at Sibley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, DC, earning her nursing degree in 1955. On September 4, 1954, she married the love of her life, Robert K. Riley, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian. Margaret served for many years as a Registered Nurse at Anne Arundel Medical Center, caring for patients with compassion and grace until her retirement. Faith and family were the cornerstones of Margaret’s life. She is survived by her brother, Nelson (Cheryl); her three children, Sharon (Don), Robert (Jeri), and Kathleen (Allen); eight cherished grandchildren, Stephanie (Austin), Michael (Katie), Matthew, Stephen, Melissa, Holly, Julie, and Lisa; and four cherished great-grandchildren, Jensen, Samantha, Camden, and Jace. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet. Margaret had a heart for service and a deep love for children. She volunteered for many years at her church, for Vacation Bible School and AWANA programs that touched the lives of countless young hearts. Her gentle presence and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Creative and kind-hearted, Margaret found joy in sewing, crocheting, and knitting, crafting beautiful items for those she loved. Her garden was another passion a quiet sanctuary she tended with care. She also treasured traveling and camping adventures shared with loved ones. As a proud Marylander, Margaret savored the simple joys of life—Maryland crabs, cheering on the Baltimore Orioles, and indulging in a piece of chocolate now and then. Most of all, Margaret found fulfillment in studying the Bible and leading women’s Bible studies, sharing her unwavering faith with those around her. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to grace, devotion, and enduring love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of family and friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Margaret's life on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. A funeral service will follow at 11 am. She will be laid to rest following the service at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lothian, beside her beloved husband.
