argaret “Peggy†Scott Shiflet 88 of Annapolis died on March 2, 2010 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood. She was a resident of Heritage Harbor for the last 8 years and lived previously in Bethesda, MD for 52 years. Margaret was born Oct. 12th 1921 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Roy & Hazel Scott. She graduated from high school in Romeo, Michigan and took additional business courses in Pontiac, Michigan and Washington, DC. She moved to Washington, DC in 1942 to help operator and traveling recruiter for the Civil Service Commission. Her last employment was as a residential realtor for Stuart & Maury in Washington, DC and suburban Maryland, retiring after 25 years in 1994. Margaret was a member of the Sixth Presbyterian Church of Washington, DC for 66 years, having been married there in 1944 to Dr. Claude J. Shiflet, Jr. She was also a member of the Bethesda woman's club and active in their functions. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family, neighbors and she especially loved gardening. Margaret was preceded in death by her two sisters, Florence and Roberta and she is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Claude J. Shiflet; two children, Dr. Dennis S. Shiflet of Bethesda, MD and Claudia S. Edgar of Davidsonville, MD; and five grandchildren. Friends are invited to Margaret's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, March 6th from 10am until time of service begins at 11am. Interment Ft. Lincoln Cemetery.
