Margaret Julia Stanley - Obituary

eacefully and surrounded by family, Margaret Julia Stanley, 84, of Oxon Hill, MD, passed away on December 11, 2020. Margaret was born on December 31, 1935 in Washington, D.C. to Miller and Blanche Yates. She grew up one of 15 children in Southwest D.C. She attended St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and school. She was married to Floyd H. Stanley, Jr, the love of her life. Together they raised 6 children and helped raise 6 grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her son Chris Stanley, her daughter Rachel Stanley, her grandchildren Gary Herr, Holly Herr, and Evan Nichols, and 13 of her siblings. She is survived by her children Floyd Stanley III, Patty Stanley, Lori Herr, and Richey Stanley, her grandchildren Jennifer Stanley Hash, Cory Nichols, and Joshua Stanley, and her sister Grace Albrittain. A public viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Monday, December 21 at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD, followed by a private service for immediate family. Margaret loved flowers and the family requests that flowers be sent so she can be surrounded by them.
