argaret Mary Thomasch Margaret Mary Thomasch, 96, a 13-year resident of Edgewater, and previously a 38-year resident of Rockville, Maryland died on June 27 at her home. Margaret was born on May 30, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late James and Emily Molloy and was a graduate of Holy Cross School and Girls High in Brooklyn. She completed a two year certification program for Education for Parish Service at Trinity College. Margaret was a parishioner at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Rockville, where she served on the parish council, was co-chairman of Lectors, was a member of the Lay Ministry team, and taught CCD for 20 years. She was also on the parish liturgy team and the sanctuary society, and coordinated a bible sharing group. Her interests included spending time with family and friends at gatherings, travelling, shopping, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed reading, watching golf, and celebrating her Irish heritage. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, James and Eugene Molloy and earlier this year by her beloved husband of 72 years, Gordon Thomasch. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Eileen Stisitis of Annapolis and Mary Thomasch of Point of Rocks, Maryland; three sons and their wives and companions: Roger Thomasch and Janie Harrington, Daniel and Jeannine Thomasch, and James and Christine Thomasch; 11 grandchildren: Paul, Brian, Scott, Stephen, Emma, Jennifer, Michelle and Meghan Thomasch, Tamara Barber, Kimberly Metzger, and Laura Uzzle; and six great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Margaret’s Life Celebration on Monday, July 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD.
