Margaret Lucille Whittington - Obituary

argaret Lucille "Lucy" Whittington, 87, a resident of Crofton, MD, died on August 22, 2019. Born on June 17, 1932 in Sudley, MD to the late Raymond and Margaret Peake, Lucy graduated from Southern High School and worked with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glenn W. Whittington, Jr., who died on December 7, 2010 and her grandson, Barry D. Whittington, Jr. She is survived by her children, Pamela S. Parks of Deale, MD and Barry D. Whittington of Shady Side, MD; her sister, Helen Ann Padgett of Missouri; her grandchildren, Laura, Lucille and Louis Parks, Jr., Tiffany Calhoun and Natalie Van Dijk; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Galesville United Methodist Church, 4825 Church Lane, Galesville, MD 20765. Friends are invited to celebrate Lucy's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Saturday, August 31 from 2 pm until her memorial service begins at 4 pm.
