Margery Hubert Livas - Obituary

argery Hubert Livas, "Margie", 80, of Annapolis, passed away at her home on Friday, August 12, 2016. She was born in Palmer, MA, on February 19, 1936, to the late Edward and Lillian Hubert. In 1957, Margie earned her bachelor degree in history from the University of Massachusetts. She also worked towards an advanced degree in Library Science. As a homemaker, Margie was an avid reader, knitter, sewer, master gardener, pianist and church organist. Margie was a member of the Worcester and Wadsworth Art Museums, where she also conducted tours. Other memberships included being a docent at Old Sturbridge Village and a garden guide at Londontown Gardens. She was a theater buff and wrote a number of book reviews. Margie is survived by her devoted husband, Roger T. Livas; two children, Jeffrey C. Livas of Severna Park, MD and Elaine S. Livas of Carlisle, PA; and three grandchildren, Matthew, Megan and Miranda Livas. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 1pm to 4 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Margie's memory to The American Lung Association, 55 West Wacker Dr., Chicago IL 60601.
