ARGIE MARIE MUELLER TROUT Foreign Service Wife Margie M. Trout, 96, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Annapolis, MD, where she had been living since December, 2014. Mrs. Trout was born on April 27, 1923 in Wellston, MO. She grew up in Overland, MO and graduated from Ritenour High School in 1942. After graduation from high school, Mrs. Trout worked as a secretary for a brief time at Robertson Aircraft Corporation, St. Louis, and later as a speed lathe and drill press operator at Busch-Selzer Diesel Engine Co., St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Trout met her husband, Maurice Elmore Trout, in September, 1942 at Tune Town in St. Louis while he was in the Coast Guard. They were married 11 months later on August 24, 1943 at Overland Christian Church. She attended Webster College for 1 year (1944/1945) while they lived in Webster Groves, MO. In July, 1950, her husband joined the Foreign Service as a Diplomat and she accompanied him on assignments to Paris, France (1950-1952); Vienna, Austria (1952-1955); London, England (1956-1959); Vientiane, Laos (1959-1961); Munich, Germany (1965-1969); Bangkok, Thailand (1969-1972); Washington, DC (1961-1965, 1972-1975); and Norfolk, VA (1975-1977). While living abroad, Mrs. Trout was a member of American Women’s Clubs, Embassy Clubs, International Women’s Clubs, a Cub Scout den mother, and while living in Bethesda, MD she was a Girl Scout leader. She loved working with her hands and some of her beautiful crochet articles were displayed in the Exhibition of Works of Art by the Corps Diplomatique in London. After retirement from the Foreign Service (1977), Dr. and Mrs. Trout lived in McLean, Virginia and continued traveling abroad. She was a Certified Genealogist and a member of the National Genealogical Society. Her hobbies were genealogy, knitting, crocheting, quilting, needlepoint, and oil painting. Mrs. Trout was preceded in death by her parents, Albert S. Mueller and Pearl (Jose) Mueller, her sister, Anita M. Mueller, and her husband, Maurice E. Trout. Survivors include her son, Richard W. Trout of North Myrtle Beach, SC, her daughter, Babette Y. Dammon of Annapolis, MD, grandchildren Jamie Schmidt (Sean), Lee Dammon (Nicole), and Samantha Miseta (Greg), as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, November 22 at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomon’s Island Rd, Edgewater, MD at 11am, with funeral services beginning at 12pm. Interment will be at 2pm, Friday, Nov 22 at Rock Creek Cemetery, DACOR Memorial Section, Washington, D.C.
