Marguerite M. Conte - Obituary

ARGUERITE MARIE CONTE February 11th, 1931 - August 25th, 2023 Marguerite Marie Conte, age 92, of Silver Spring, MD, entered God's Heavenly Kingdom on Friday, August 25th, 2023. She was born on February 11th, 1931 in Washington, DC to the late Umberto and Rosa Colea Conte. Also, preceded in death are her former husband Charles W. Oswald Sr, her brother, Vincent F. Conte, and her sisters Anna L. Osborne and Vincetta "Connie" Bruce. Marguerite was recruited from Maryland Park High School by the US government where she made a lifelong career as a dedicated stenographer and administrative assistant under several agencies. Marguerite was a selfless and loving mother who always put her family before herself. She lived by example giving to others what she could and demonstrating kindness to all. Marguerite is survived by daughter Vera L. Garofalo and husband David of Spotsylvania, VA, son Charles W. Oswald Jr. and wife Anne of Silver Spring, MD, daughter Rosalie Naylor and husband Jeff of Clinton, NC, grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Angela, Charles "C. W.", Tommy, Kelly, Troy, Christopher, and wife Rachel, Andrew, and James "Jamie", great-grandchildren Vincent and Anthony, a sister Rose Horvath of Houston, TX, a brother Albert Conte and wife Joanne of Alexandria, VA, and her dear cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors, and friends. Family and Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 30th from 5 pm to 8 pm at Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, MD and on Thursday, August 31st, at Mount Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, MD, a Catholic celebration and Mass of her life will be held at 10 am followed by internment at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marguerite's life on Wednesday, August 30, from 5-8 p.m., at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 10 am until a Mass of Christian Burial is offered at 11 am at Mount Calvary Catholic Church, 6700 Marlboro Pike Forestville, MD 20747. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland. Friends and family are invited to a small gathering at Pirate's Cove in Edgewater Maryland.
