Marie E. Keithley - Obituary

UNERAL SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY AT 11:00AM HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE SNOW AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A LATER DATE. Marie “Betty” E. Keithley, 84, a 17-year resident of the Heritage Harbour development of Annapolis, MD and previously of Adelphi, MD for 37-years died on December 9, 2009 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes. Born June 3, 1925 in Washington, D.C., she graduated from McKinley Technology High School in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Keithley was employed as a bookkeeper for Keithley Patent Drafting Services, Inc. until she retired in 2003. Her hobbies included crocheting, playing Mah Jong with her friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Howard W. Keithley, Jr., who died in 1991; mother of Gwenn Marie of Borrego Springs, CA and Steve Keithley of Huntingtown, MD. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to Marie's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, December 18, 2009 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, where services will be offered on Saturday, December 19 at 11am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the VFW, 406 West 34th St., Suite 718, Kansas City, MO 64111.
