arion Arrington Coomes, 74, a resident of Davidsonville for four years and previously of Thomas Point in Annapolis, died of respiratory failure Feb. 25 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Coomes was born on May 19, 1933, in Baltimore.
He worked as a park ranger with the Anne Arundel County Department of Parks and Recreation from 1969 to 2003.
He served as a sergeant in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He enjoyed gardening and his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Virginia Carol Coomes.
Survivors include one son, Patrick A. Coomes of Davidsonville; one daughter, Kelly F. Mauk of Annapolis; one sister, Fay Miller of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
