Mark Joseph Rossano - Obituary

ark Joseph Rossano died at the age of 61 on May 27, 2020 at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Deeply loved husband of twenty years of Susanna and stepfather of Nick Tselentakis. Beloved brother of Geoffrey, George and Lyn. Mark graduated from Mineola High School in Mineola, New York in 1976. He attended the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1980. In 1987, Mark received his master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the United States Navy Surface Warfare College. He served as a career Naval Officer until his retirement in 1995, having served 5 tours at sea, including 2 as Chief Engineer, and in a variety of administrative positions. Upon leaving the Navy, Mark started his own technology consulting firm which he ran for 10 years. But once a Navy Man, always a Navy Man, he returned to work for the Department of the Navy as a POL Facilities Engineer and was highly regarded by his colleagues for the work he did there. Mark was also a talented photographer, marksman and cook. He will be missed by those who loved him for his intelligence, dedication to his family and steadfast commitment to his country. A graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday, September 18 at 11 am.
