M

ark Frederick Tintle, 65, a resident of Lothian, MD for ten months and previously of Shady Side, MD, died of lung cancer on Saturday, February 19 in Pasadena, MD. Born on April 25, 1956 in Washington, DC to the late Jerome A. and Margaret A. Tintle, Mark attended St. Bernard’s Elementary School, Charles Carroll Junior High School, Archbishop Carroll High School and graduated from Parkdale Senior High School. Mark held many jobs throughout his life: newspaper carrier, Jack in the Box and Sunoco attendant, plumber, taxicab driver, nanny, Bayside Market employee, home schooling tutor and Video Pirate’s entertainer. He was involved with Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Kenneth Copeland Ministries, the Salvation Army, S.O.M.E., Purple Heart and Red Cross. Mark enjoyed trains, old time radio shows, camping, science, rockets, history, The Bible, charity work, stamps and coins. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Theresa J. Tintle; his children, Christina Herbert (Brian) of Churchton, MD and Joseph Tintle of Dunkirk, MD; his siblings, Karen Cook (Rick) of Keedysville, MD, Margo Zia (Hugo) of Reston, VA and Jeanne Vacante (Dennis) and Paul Tintle (Jackie) both of Hyattsville, MD; his granddaughter, Samantha Hill (Travis), his great-granddaughter Layla Mae and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to celebrate Mark's life on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, February 25 at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Rd., West River, MD. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
