ark E. Wrightson, 70, a ten year resident of Edgewater, MD, died at his home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 after battling kidney disease for three years. Born on May 8, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late Samuel and Barbara Wrightson, Mark served in the United State Marine Corp from 1968 to 1971 during the Viet Nam conflict and was discharged under honorable conditions. His primary job was as a rifleman but he also served as a point man and tunnel rat. He received the Viet Nam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, The Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal and the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal with Gold Frame and Palm. After serving his country, Mark worked at KC Company, Inc. Pella Windows and Doors from 1974 until retiring in 2017. He served the Company in many capacities during his career, warehouseman/supervisor, truck driver, shipping supervisor, value add/assembly man, supervisor, service tech, product specialist, operations & warehouse manager and the last 5 plus years of his career as the Service Department Manager. To most people in the company he was known as Rubby. Mark will be missed by all that knew him and he left a wonderful legacy at the Company. Mark enjoyed gambling on the slots at his favorite casinos, The Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ and Dover Downs in Dover, DE. He also enjoyed his monthly Saturday night poker game with friends. Watching TV was also one of his favorite pastimes, he especially enjoyed The Price is Right, Jeopardy, Mountain Men, Wicked Tuna and anything on the various History channels. Mark is survived by his wife, Chrystal whom he married on April 14, 2018 at the Annapolis Wedding Chapel after living together for twelve years; his daughter, Valerie Wrightson Edmonds and her husband, Aaron of Alexandria, VA; his stepdaughter, Ericka Denaro and her husband, Domenico and step grandchildren, Logan and his wife, Suzi of Killeen, TX, Griffin and Natalie both of Edgewater, MD and Kaylin of Spirit Lake, ID. All the grandchildren called Mark, Pork Chop Pop-Pop. A service, with military honors, will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery,1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:45am.
