artha "Marty" Elizabeth Sinnard Wright, 82, a resident of Annapolis, MD since 1962 and previously of Hyattsville, MD died on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home. Born January 09, 1929 in Denver, CO to the late Elven Orestes and Catherine Sinnard, she graduated from Washington Lee High School in Arlington, VA in 1946 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Chesapeake Bible College and received her Ministry Credentials from Berean College of the Assemblies of God. She was employed as a secretary at the Annapolis Assembly of God, teacher/principal at the Book of Life Academy in Annapolis, MD and as a spokeswoman at the Bankers of American Conventions in 1978 and 1985. She was a fashion illustrator for RTW Scout Newspaper in New York City, NY, television actress in the 1979 movie, Mayflower: The Pilgrims' Adventure and was a dinner theatre actress from 1978-79 in Maryland and Texas. Mrs. Wright was appointed to the Kennedy Center Advisory Board by President Carter in 1978. She was a founder of the Annapolis Opera, Ballet Theatre of Annapolis, the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts and the Edgewater campus of Chesapeake Bible College. She was a minister at Annapolis Assembly of God and a Pastor at the Epping Forest Chapel and Woodland Beach Community Church. Mrs. Wright was also executive director of the Love in Action AIDS ministry and is a member of the 21st Century Club. Her hobbies included the theatre and arts. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Wright, Sr., whom she married on October 23, 1948 and who died on October 17, 2009; mother of Robert Maynard Wright, Jr. of Annapolis, MD, Richard Sinnard Wright of Annapolis, MD, James Phillip Wright of Lafayette, CA and Scott Bennett Wright of Crofton, MD; sister of Elaine Janice Anderson of Middletown, NY and the late Elvin O. Sinnard, Jr. and Catherine Jane Tucker. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren. Friends are invited to Martha's Life Celebration at Woodland Beach Community Church, 1716 Shady Side Drive, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, October 30 at 4pm, with a reception immediately following. Guests are welcome to bring a covered dish, but not required. Inurnment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
