Marvin Hulsey - Obituary

arvin Hulsey, Sr.,72, of Oxon Hill, MD died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He was born on October 19, 1936 in Miami, Oklahoma. He joined the Navy in 1954 and served his country as Chief Petty Officer on various ships, and traveling throughout the world. During his twenty years of service he received numerous awards. Following his Navy career, he served under Presidents Ford and Nixon at the White House, and also as a District Court Commissioner for Prince Georges County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hulsey and Bessie Chambers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William “Clydean” Hulsey. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ellamae Hulsey, his son Kenny of Oxon Hill, MD, his son Marvin Hulsey, Jr. and his wife Susan of Stafford, VA, his daughter Marilyn and her husband Scott Williams of Waldorf, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren, LeighAnn, Marsha, Samantha, Andrew, and Justin; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on September 30th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Kalas Funeral Home in Oxon Hill, MD. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on October 1, at 1:00 at St. Columba Catholic Church in Oxon Hill. Burial will take place immediately following at Arlington National Cemetery.
