Mary Lou Bassford - Obituary

Mary Lou Bassford, 87, a 65-year resident of Riva, and previously of Annapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Mandarin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD. Mary Lou was born on August 8, 1930 in Annapolis to the late Oliver and Louise Clark. She was a graduate of Annapolis High School and worked as a hairdresser. Her hobbies included crafts and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert L. Bassford, Sr. and her daughter Debbie Garofolo. She is survived by her children Robert L. Bassford, Jr. and his wife Jannie of Dunkirk, MD, Skip Bassford of Ridgely, MD and Bryan Bassford and his wife Cindy of Leonardtown, MD, two brothers; James and George Clark, and her grandchildren; Danny, Chris and Brandon Bassford and Heather Garofolo Kinney. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mary Lou’s life on Tuesday from 11am until a funeral service will begin at 12 noon at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Annapolis.
