Mary Benso - Obituary

ary Patricia Benso (nee Brannon) a 22-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Adelphi died on March, 4, 2014 at her home. She was 85. Known to family and friends as Mary Pat, she was born on October 31, 1928 in Washington, DC. Mary Pat was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her memberships included St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Heritage Harbour Community, Elks Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve. She enjoyed traveling, spending summers at Bethany Beach, the Heritage Harbour Dining Club and Exercise Group, dancing, knitting and bowling. Mary Pat was the beloved wife of Ralph J. Benso, whom she married on July 2, 1949; devoted mother of Michael (Laura) Benso of West River, David (Christy) Benso of Millersville, Patricia (Farhad) Golshani of Centreville and Peggy (Paul) Gabor of Gambrills; sister of Donald (Suzi) Brannon of Williamsburg, VA; aunt of Linda Rembold, John Brannon and the late Joan Brannon; grandmother of Eden, Amber and Leah Golshani, Shannon and Megan Gabor, Joan, Mary and Anna Benso and Nadia Benso-Lennon; great-grandmother of Chole, Sean, Desiree, Andre, Jeremiah, David, Joseph, Keith, Natasha and Lydia. Friends are invited to Mary Pat's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Sunday, March 9 from 11am to 1pm and 5pm to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis on Monday, March 10 at 9am. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville.
