ary Ellen Butkowski, a 33 year resident of Edgewater, previously of Chesapeake, Virginia, died September 20, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of congestive heart failure. She was 74. Born September 4, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles and Mamie Cummings, Mary was a homemaker, taking care of her husband and her 3 children. Mary was an outstanding bowler and loved to going to casinos and travelling Mary is survived by her husband John Butkowski, whom she married in December of 1975,her sons, Bill Byrd of Alpharetta, Georgia, David Byrd of Lake City, Florida and Bruce Byrd, Jr. of Lenoir, North Carolina. She is also survived 12 grandchildren and her brother Everte Quasney and sister Marilyn Davis, both of Baltimore, MD, and was predeceased by 8 siblings. Friends are invited to Mary's Life Celebration on Tuesday, September 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at The George P. Kalas Funeral Home, P.A., 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD where services will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at 10:00 A.M.. Interment, Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
