Mary Holly Carlson - Obituary

ary "Holly" Carlson (Buchanan), 74, of Edgewater, Maryland, passed on February 4, 2017. Born January 7, 1943, in Catonsville, Maryland. She was predeceased seven years ago by her late husband of 49 years, Charles M. Carlson II of Edgewater, Maryland. Holly was an active resident of Anne Arundel County having lived there most of her life. She was dedicated to her husband, family, friends and community service. Holly and her brother Wayne A. Buchanan were raised by their maternal grandparents Florence and Benjamin Schooler. She grew up on the Magothy River and frequented Mago Vista Beach. She loved the water, boating, fishing and found true beauty in simple things. We celebrate that Charles and Holly are together again. Survivors include her brother Wayne A. Buchanan of Millersville, MD.; sons, Lawrence Peter (Pete) Carlson of Lusby, MD and Charles M. (Chuck) Carlson III of Riva, MD.; granddaughter Susan Marie Carlson of Virginia Beach, VA.; grandsons, SSgt. John Thomas Carlson of El Paso, TX and Charles (Charlie) Carlson of Riva, MD; and one great grand-daughter one niece and one nephew. Holly will surely be missed by everyone including her herd of deer and numerous squirrels. A private service will be held at St. Anne’s Cedar Bluff Cemetery, Annapolis, Maryland.
