Mary E. Clark, 96, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021, at Sagepoint Memory Care, LaPlata, MD. She was born September 2, 1924, in Reading, PA. She leaves behind her daughter, Danielle Donaldson (Cliff) and a son, Daniel Brett Clark (Linda), three granddaughters; Lynnette Melotti (Tony), Kaila Clark and Taylor Donaldson, two grandsons; Robert Reed Blake, III and Daniel Clark (Claire), two great-grandchildren; Dylan King and her namesake Mary Clark. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Stephen Nicklos and Verna Nicklos. Mary had 10 brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated from St. Josephs Nursing School in 1947 and went on to get her Undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959.
Mary was a 30-Year Federal employee as a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital on the Medical-Surgical Unit until her retirement in 1984. After her retirement she moved to St. Petersburg, FL where she enjoyed, fishing, crabbing, playing bingo and spending time with her family. Mary loved to travel and go on trips with family from California.
Mary was devoted Catholic and belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 10am until a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8908 Old Branch Avenue, Clinton, MD 20735. Due to COVID restrictions the interment at Resurrection Cemetery is private.
