ary Regina Foley, 84, of Edgewater, and previously of Frederick, passed away after a brief illness on December 8, 2016. Mary was born on January 15, 1932 in New York City to the late James Mason and Mary Ameila Miller. After graduating from St. Bernard's Catholic High School, Mary went onto graduate from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She used those skills to work for the law firm of Bingham, Dana and Gould for five years before she meet her future husband , Paul Foley. Mary and her family moved to Maryland in 1970 and became a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton. She was loyal to her Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and her adoptive hometown Washington Redskins.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Kenneth Foley.
She is survived by her four children Lauren(Alan) Johnson of Edgewater, Patricia Foley Ventre of Middleton, MD, Christine (Randy) Flowers of Lovettsville, VA, and Paul (Teresa) Foley, Jr. of Lusby; three granddaughters, Caroline Flowers, Catie Flowers, and Maddie Ventre, and a brother,James Miller of Bisbee, AZ.
Friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 2-4 pm and from 6 pm until a service begins at 7 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
