Mary Hobgood - Obituary

ary A. Hobgood, 81, of Oxon Hill, MD died on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her residence from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Mrs. Hobgood was born on December 27, 1926 in Germantown, PA to the late Walter and Anastasia Maxin. She graduated from High School in Pennsylvania where she was raised. She was a homemaker and a sales associate for 30 years at Woodward & Lothrop in Iverson Mall. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ft. Washington, MD. She belonged to prayer and bible groups and was a very devout, faithful Catholic and Christian. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul T. Hobgood, Sr. who died in May 1999; mother of Paul T. Hobgood, Jr. of Waldorf, MD, David W. Hobgood of Annapolis, MD and James P. Hobgood of Hamilton, VA and Susan H. Fry-Rayfield of Ocean City, MD; sister of William Maxin and Kathryn Payne both of Philadelphia, PA and Ann Greene of California. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Mrs. Hobgood's Life Celebration at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, PA., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 10am at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 2315 Brinkley Rd., Ft. Washington, MD. Rev. Noel Desolate will be celebrating the Mass. Interment Roselawn Cemetery, Benson, NC.
