ary Kiss, 87, a nearly 9-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Myrtle Beach, SC and Allendale, NJ, died October 22 at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 28, 1924 in Holyoke, MA to the late Ignatz and Annie Logayda. Mary had a curiosity and zest for life that took her on travels around the world. She was also well known for her sense of humor and enjoyed bridge, knitting, crossword puzzles and watching Dancing with the Stars. Her greatest passion was her family and she loved hosting gatherings with them where she could share her cooking talents.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Alexander Kiss, who died in 1982 and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Longo, who died in 2000.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Kiss (Leonard Acheson) of Davidsonville; one sister, Irene Bieber of Lakehurst,NJ;one niece; Barbara Bieber;four grandchildren, Patrick Joseph (Susan) Longo, Charles Anthony (Kelly) Longo, Jonathan Paul Longo, Alexandra Christine(Brandon)Taylor; three great-granchildren, James, Mia and Joseph Longo; and one step-grandchild, Amy Acheson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26 at 11AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
