Mary Theresa Lerch, 81, of Lothian, MD died on July 19 at her home. Born on July 25, 1940, in Annapolis, MD to the late Nicholas and Agnes Bottner. Mary Theresa was a 1958 graduate of Annapolis High School and she earned her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from the University of Maryland in 1962.  Mary Theresa had a profound love for her family and friends. She was heavily involved in her church, Our Lady of Sorrows, especially with the choir and the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. She loved golf, travelling and a nearly endless list of other activities. But mostly, she enjoyed the things she experienced with those she loved; her family and friends. Mary Theresa did everything in life with joy, enthusiasm and love, and always tried to spread that joy, enthusiasm and love to everyone she met. Mary Theresa is survived by her husband of 59 years, William Lerch Sr.; her children, William (Susan) Lerch, Joanne (Bruce) Burns, both of Lothian, MD and Alan (MaryBeth) Lerch of Bristow, VA and her eight grandchildren: Annie, Will (Sarah), and Katie Lerch; Michele and Holly Burns; and Marie, David, and Emily Lerch. Friends are invited to celebrate Mary Theresa's life on Tuesday, July 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 27 at 11 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 101 Owensville Road, West River, MD. Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church for Mary’s Garden or Holiday Sharing project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
