Mary M. LoMedico - Obituary

ary Margaret LoMedico, 76, a 30-year resident of Dunkirk, MD passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in Towson, MD surrounded by her family. Mary was born on May 16, 1949, in Washington, DC, to the late Robert and Mary McDonald. Mary worked as an administrative assistant for most of her life. She enjoyed her time at both St. John the Evangelist in Clinton, MD, and working for the George P. Kalas Funeral Home in Oxon Hill, MD. She was a former parishioner at St. John’s in Clinton. Mary’s interests included spending time with her family, especially sitting on the back porch. She loved music and watching the Washington Nationals. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert LoMedico, and her brother, Robert McDonald. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Nina LoMedico Fergus and her husband Brad, of Arnold, MD, and Laura LoMedico Neidert and her husband Chris of Sunderland, MD. Mary is also survived by four grandchildren that she adored, Paige and Brooke Fergus, and Meredith and Natalie Neidert. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary's life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 2 pm until 8 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11 am at St Anthony's Catholic Church, 8816 Chesapeake Ave., North Beach, MD 20714. A graveside service for Mary will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 12:30 pm at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gilchrist Hospice, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21031.
