n Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Mary Eloise Lozupone peacefully died, leaving behind a loving family and legacy of love. She joins her beloved husband, Dominic Lozupone, in eternal rest. Mary was born November 7, 1926 to Jessie and Clarence Jenkins. She was born and raised on her family’s tobacco farm in Southern MD, where she developed her strong work ethic and love of the outdoors with her sister Mary Ann Lucas and her late siblings Lucille, Mabel, Gladys, and Roy. She moved to Washington, DC where she was the bank branch manager of National Capital Bank, a job she proudly held for many years. It was in moving to Washington, DC where she met her husband Dominic Lozupone and they began their family and life together with their three daughters, Laura L. Gulick (and her late husband Richard), Deborah Rose (Benjamin), and Suzanne Hay (Robert). Mary delighted in her grandchildren: Jessica, Robert, Emily, Mary, Matthew, Patrick, Clare, and Angela, while treasuring the memory of Christopher, who preceded her in death. She was also particularly proud of and loved to share that she had 15 great grandchildren: Anabella, Christopher, James, Bridget, Benjamin, Jacob, Max, Alex, Olivia, Rory, Dominic, Elijah, Miriam, Margaret, and Nathaniel. Celebration of Life Family and friends are invited to gather in Mary's honor for a Life Celebration on Monday, June 9, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, June 10, at 11:00 AM at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 5416 Henderson Way, Camp Springs, Maryland 20746, where Mary's faith will be celebrated and her soul commended to God's eternal care. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735 immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38101-9908
