ary E. McMahon, 71, a 24-year resident of Crownsville, MD, died Sunday, May 29, at her home. She was born May 27, 1940 in Washington, DC to the late William R. and Claire Mercer, graduated from Suitland High School in 1959 and earned an Associate's Degree in Hospitality Management from Prince George's Community College. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening and was active in her local book club. Most of all, she loved taking care of her home and family.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brother, David Mercer. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert McMahon; two sons, Kevin McMahon of Crofton and Bryan (Carrie) McMahon of Baltimore; two brothers, William Mercer, Jr. of Laurel and Robert Mercer of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Jacque Brown of North Carolina and Deborah Hobson of Glen Burnie; two nephews, Joe Brown, Jr. and Chris Perry; two nieces, Jennifer Brown and Susan Webb and many great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to Mary's Life Celebration on Thursday, June 2, from 4 p.m. until service begins at 7 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anne Arundel Medical Center Foundation, 2001 Medical Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
