Mary Murphy - Obituary

ary Rose Murphy (Nee Kiley), 90, a 20 year resident of Crofton, MD passed away at her home of natural causes after a brief illness on May 22, 2008. Born November 14, 1917 in Portsmouth, VA. Mary Rose was married for 54 years to U.S. Navy Commander, James P. Murphy, who passed away August 17, 1998 and who she married February 5, 1944. Together they raised a family of 5 while travelling throughout the United States and abroad. She will be cherished by all who knew and loved her for her grace, dignity, strength and humor. She is the beloved mother of James P. Murphy, Susan Boosinger, Anne Bergner all of Crofton, MD, Trisha and Mary Murphy both of Chevy Chase, MD. Sister of Charles Kiley of Virginia Beach, VA, Kitty Aldworth, Hilton Head, SC, and late Daniel Kiley and Elizabeth Thompson. Daughter of the late Daniel and Rose Kiley. Mother in law of Thomas Boosinger, Richard Bergner, John Ratino and Buddy Vagnoni. Friends are invited to Mrs. Murphy's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, May 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 10am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue, Millersville, MD. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
