M

ary Agnes Nogay, beloved wife of the late William A. Nogay, Major USAF Ret. passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Morningside House in Laurel, Maryland. Mary Agnes Sagan was born October 16, 1921, to Lawrence and Julia Sagan, both of whom emigrated from Poland and settled in Weirton, West Virginia, where she was raised. Mary married William Anthony Nogay on April 4, 1945, a decorated World War II aviator who served his nation in the U. S. Air Force for 20 years. The couple traveled extensively during his years of service before settling in Temple Hills, Maryland. Mary is the mother of five children and their spouses: Claude and Maria Nogay of Cheverly, MD; Charles Dorian and Elaine Nogay Walker of Bowling Green, KY; Richard and Claire Beth Nogay of Caldwell, NJ; Brian and Donna Nogay of Silver Spring, MD; Justine and Donald Good of Mesa, AZ as well as ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Nogay was an inspiration to many through her involvement in countless church and school-related organizations, despite having limited use of her legs since an illness in 1963. She was a member of the Sodality of Holy Family Parish. Family and friends are invited to Mary’s Life Celebration on Sunday, May 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, May 27th at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2200 Callaway St., Hillcrest Heights, MD. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent in her honor to the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, 3900 13th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017, (202) 526-6808.
