Mary Roberts - Obituary

ary Roberts Mary M. Roberts, 92, of Annapolis, died of natural causes Dec. 8 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Annapolis. Previously, she was a resident of Chesapeake Beach for 30 years. Born Nov. 3, 1915 in Washington DC, she was a high school graduate and one of the first women hired by Western Electric as a pay phone assembler. A bowling enthusiast, she was a champion duck pin bowler and won many local regional tournaments. She was a member of the American Legion Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Elsie Magnotto; her husband Sydney C. Roberts, who passed away in 1963, five brothers and four sisters. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Dec. 11 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, burial will follow at the Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, Md.
