ary Helen Doepkens Scible, 80, a lifetime resident of Davidsonville, Maryland died peacefully March 13 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born May 29, 1930 in Davidsonville, Maryland to the late Henry and Elizabeth Doepkens. She married her beloved husband of 61 years, John (Jack) M. Scible. Mary most enjoyed being a devoted wife and mother to 5 children and spending time in her beautiful gardens. She was a ray of sunshine to her family and dearly loved by all she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, George Henry Scible, a grandson and 8 siblings. She is survived by her husband, John M. Scible; two sons, Mark Scible of Gambrills and David Scible of Edgewater; two daughters, Mary May of Davidsonville and Joan Wood of Deale; 8 grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Friends are invited to Mary’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17 at 10:30am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, Maryland. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
