ary Virginia Snyder, 93 of Davidsonville died on June 27th peacefully at Hospice of the Chesapeake's Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD.
She was born July 26, 1918 in Mt. Rainier, MD to the late Thomas Alvin and Ann Waters (Barber) Norris. She retired from the United States Postal Service in Washington , D.C. after 37 years of service. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, where she was involved in church activities, Davidsonville Ruritan and South County Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, lawn care, cutting her grass, arts and crafts, baking and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Samuel Snyder, her son Michael James McNally, and her brother Thomas Alvin Norris, Jr.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Tammy Kim McNally, her daughter-in-law, Kay Sue McNally, her sister-in-law, Ethel Norris, 3 nephews: David J. Norris, Thomas A. Norris III and Robert Snyder, and a niece Wanda Meade.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church Chapel, 826 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville on Tuesday, July 3 at 10am.
