Mary LaVerne Urdal, 88, and a longtime resident of Davidsonville, MD, died June 6, 2025 after a four-year battle with dementia.  Born in Batesville, IN on December 10, 1936 to the late Raymond and Loretta Raver, she was the eldest of four children.  

Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert; her younger sister Ruth Ann Watson of Port Orange Florida; her children, Michael (wife Connie), of Davidsonville, MD; Susan of Severn MD; Karen Jackson (husband Paul) of Bellingham, WA; and her grandchildren, Airman First Class Paul Jackson, Sara Jackson, and Renee.

Mary earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maryland before embarking on a long career with the Defense Intelligence Agency where she retired.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 46 years, and often helped with the Lazarus committee and Adoration. Mary found happiness and loved spending time and taking care of her family; especially her grandchildren.  She was also an avid tennis player and loved gardening.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mary’s visitation and funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 11, both at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville.  The visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30.  Burial will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville.  After the burial, all are invited back to Holy Family Catholic Church fellowship hall for a reception.
