arylou Reed Huse, a 20 year resident of Annapolis, Maryland and previously of Potomac, MD passed away peacefully on January 20, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Marylou was born, June 16, 1927, in Connecticut. She was the first of four children of the late Carlton Day Reed and Louise Hinchey Reed. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Robert M. Huse and her sister, Hopestill R. Hunter. She is survived by her four daughters, Katie McCann of Texas, Mary McBride of Florida, Elizabeth Wagner of Ohio and Margaret Larson of North Carolina; she is also survived by seven grandsons, three granddaughters and one great-grandson. Marylou is also survived by her brother Carlton Day Reed, Jr., of Maine, sister Hepzibah R. Powers, of Maine and her best friend and special companion, George Serini of Maryland. She grew up in Day's Ferry, Woolwich, Maine, where she attended a one room school house. Marylou attended Morse High School in Bath, Maine and graduated from Colby College in Waterville, Maine in 1949 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English. In August of 1949, she married Robert Huse. In 1958, the family moved to Bethesda, Maryland until 1966, when they relocated to the Potomac area. She was an avid gardener and bridge player. She and Robert also enjoyed spending weekends sailing. In the spring, her ashes will be laid to rest in her beloved state of Maine.
