Matthew James Kratz - Obituary

atthew James Kratz, 54, a resident of Deale, MD and previously of District Heights, MD, died on April 16, 2022. Known as "Matt-Matt" or "Matty K", he was born on May 13, 1967 in Washington, DC to Joseph Kratz, Sr., and the late Nancy Kratz. Matt graduated from Crossland High School and worked as a hydraulic electrician for various large companies. He was a prankster with an extravagant sense of humor. Matt loved people and was a gentle giant. In addition to his father and his step-mother Elizabeth, he is survived by three siblings, Joseph "Joey" Kratz, Jr. of West Palm Beach, FL, Lisa Thomas and her husband Tom of Richmond, VA, Michael "Mike" Kratz of Honolulu, HI, his girlfriend Lisa Howard, Deale, MD and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Matt's life will be held on Monday, May 23 at 2 PM at American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206, 3330 Chesapeake Beach Rd., Chesapeake Beach, MD.
