Matthew Arthur Zapf - Obituary

atthew Arthur Zapf died suddenly at his residence in Annapolis, MD on September 8, 2021 at the age of 35. Matthew graduated from South River High School in 2004. Matthew was an Orioles and Ravens fan but his true passions were music and movies. He was an accomplished guitar player and could recite movie lines and actor’s names for any movie one could name. Matthew was a loving son and brother. He had big, blue eyes and eyelashes that women envied! He always had a kindness about him and a concern for others. Matthew was brave and always had a “thank you” for all that was given to him. Matthew is survived by his mother, Jean Schraf, his stepfather, Jamie Schraf, his father, Art Zapf, his stepmother, Ann Zapf, his brother Chris Zapf, his grandmother, Sue Wight and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Matthew's life on Friday, September 17 from 4 to 7pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18 at 10:30 am. Interment Meadow Branch Cemetery, Westminster, MD.
