Maureen S. Coyle - Obituary

aureen Skaar Coyle, 77, a resident of Odenton, MD for more than fifty-two years, died on Monday, August 8, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family, due to liver failure. Born on January 6, 1939 in Queens, NY to the late Kristoffer and Evelyn Skaar, Maureen graduated from Manasquan High School in Manasquan, NJ. For many years she owned and operated Maureen's Beauty Salon from her home in Odenton. Maureen enjoyed cooking, golf, dancing, singing and loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael James Coyle, III who died on February 8, 2016. She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Coyle, IV of Annapolis, MD, Sean Coyle of Phoenix, MD and Colleen (Todd) Werling of Elkridge, MD; her brothers, Chris Skaar of Scottsdale, AZ and Charlie Skaar of Neptune, NJ and her grandchildren, Michael, Spencer, Casey, Maddie, Mackenzie, Patrick, Molly, Alexis and Hunter. Friends are invited to celebrate Maureen's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Sunday, August 14 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1pm on Monday, August 15 at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
