aureen Ann Quinn On November 22, 2023, Maureen Quinn died peacefully at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Columbia, Maryland. Maureen, the only daughter and eldest child of John W. and Margaret Quinn, was born in Washington, DC on May 16, 1942. Maureen was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Cheverly, MD. She graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame Catholic School and went on to study Engineering at the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. She was employed with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland for over 30 years. Maureen was active in her church at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, MD which she attended for over 50 years where she taught CCD and participated in the prayer shawl and rosary club ministries. In addition to her faithful attendance and contributions to church, she was active in her community where she volunteered her time at Marlton Swim and Racquet swim team and the Prince Mont Swim League. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family and bragging about her 12 grandchildren. Maureen began a Thanksgiving gathering with her children and grandchildren that has continued for 24 years. She was an avid reader, sharing many favorite authors with her children who had similar interests. Maureen was preceded in death by her infant daughter Mary (1964), parents John (1999) and Margaret (2007), and brother Terry (2009). Maureen is survived by her 6 children, Kenny Gray (Laurie), Peggy Clark (Marco), Kathy Pappas (Cooper), Mickey Gray (Chris), Jennifer Gray, and Brian Gray (Diana); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 brothers, Buddy (Lisa), Jerry, Tim, and Dennis (Nancy). Visitation will take place at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037 on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 6 - 8 pm. On Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 1 – 2pm, a visitation will take place at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 14908 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gilchrist Hospice Care Center,6336 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD 21044.
