elvin Bertin Clow, Sr., 95, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died peacefully at his son’s home in Edgewater surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, March 2, 2016.
Melvin was born on June 14, 1920 in Annapolis, MD to the late John and Florence Clow and was a graduate of Annapolis High School. After graduation Melvin joined the Army Air Corp and served in European Theater.
Melvin retired from Greenspring Dairy as a route foreman and later worked for R.S. Leitch Company as a dispatcher. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed gardening and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret and Mary Clow, his siblings; Charlie, Raymond, Lawrence and Phillip Clow, Bertha French and Leila Phillips.
Melvin is survived by his two sons; Mel Clow, Jr. of Edgewater and Lawrence Clow of Annapolis, one brother; John Clow and one sister; Dorothy Terwilliger. Also survived by his grandchildren; Daniel, Stephanie, David, Steven and Margaret, and great-grandchildren Sarah, Samuel, Sara, Erin, Evan, Hollis, Adalise, and Daniel.
Friends may call on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2 to 4pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11am. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery in Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Melvin’s memory to Hospice of the Chesapeake or a Charity of One’s Choice.
