Melvin Hardesty - Obituary

elvin H. Hardesty, 70, of Edgewater, died of renal failure Sept. 3 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born Nov. 29, 1936, in Annapolis, the son of the late Hollis and Bessie Hardesty, Mr. Hardesty was a farmer living in Davidsonville prior to relocating to the Edgewater area 34 years ago. For many years he was caregiver to his mother. His interests included crabbing, baking and visiting with neighbors and friends. Surviving are his sister, Lorraine Redifer of Salisbury; and his aunt, Estelle Pardoe of Easton. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will follow in the All Hallows Episcopal Church cemetery in Birdsville.
