ichael F. Bosler, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Dr. Fred and Dorothy Bosler, Michael graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended Xavier University. His professional career included time with GTE Directories Corporation which evolved into Bell Atlantic. Promotions moved Michael to Florida, Texas, and Maryland, which has been his home for the last 30 years. He retired in 1995. Michael, Mike, Dad, Grandpa Mike … He loved life, spending time with his children and grandchildren, sailing on the Magothy, going for boat rides, crabbing off his dock, following his favorite sports’ teams, playing tennis, singing in the church choir, biking, playing cards with his wife, sisters and brothers-in-law, spending summers at the family cottage in Clear Lake, IN, telling a good joke or two, and greeting strangers as newly found friends. He loved milkshakes, donuts, desserts and everything sweet. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne (Bob) Wruble. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of Arnold, MD; his sons, Chris (Debra) Bosler and Greg (Paula) Bosler; his daughter, Jennifer (Joe) Desormiers; his sisters, Emily (Tom) Costello, Marilyn (Robert J.) Henley and Rita (Bob) Burroughs; and a stepdaughter, Jennifer (Steve) Heal; a stepson, Clyde (Jessica) Simmons; and 11 grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Michael’s life on Friday, January 27 from 4 to 7 pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, January 28 at 10:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor of Indianapolis, 2345 W 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260.
