Michael Joseph Dye - Obituary

ichael Joseph Dye, a long-time resident of Edgewater and South County, died on May 27, 2017 at his home. Born on April 14, 1943 in Washington, DC to the late Joseph and Doris Dye, Michael graduated from High Point High School in Adelphi and continued his studies at the University of Maryland. He began his career as a car mechanic, which continued to be a lifelong passion, and later became a real estate appraiser. Michael was a small plane pilot and an enthusiast for any piece of equipment that burned fossil fuel. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, boating and, most recently, restoring a 1962 corvette. Michael is survived by his companion and wife of the past 25 years, Beth Ann Dye; two sons, Michael Collin Dye of Linthicum Heights, MD and Garrett Dye of Edgewater, MD; and two sisters, Linda Hayes of Edgewater and Suzanne Glorioso of Clearwater, FL. Friends are invited to celebrate Michael’s life at a gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
