Michael T. Shekletski - Obituary

n Saturday, August 12, 2023, Michael Thomas Shekletski (Mike), passed away at the age of 60 after a sudden, but short illness. Mike was born on June 2, 1963, in Rockville, Maryland to Robert and Marilyn Shekletski. He attended Sherwood High School, received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from West Virginia University in 1985, and was a practicing Certified Public Accountant in Maryland before starting his own business. Mike had a long and successful career as the owner and operator of MainScapes, Inc. for over 25 years. After retiring in 2021, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, quality time with his sons, and being out on the water captaining the Main eEscape out of West Ocean City, Maryland. Mike enjoyed spending time in the Florida Keys and was soon to become a resident of Duck Key, Florida. His family paid this tribute to him, “Mike will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and devoted friend. His outgoing personality led to lifelong friendships gained throughout the years and his passion for fishing and life will live on in our memories. Our words cannot express how sorely he will be missed”.   He is survived by his wife, Julie Shekletski, son Matthew and wife Margaret, son Robert and significant other Samantha, son Michael Jr., and Julie’s daughters Lauren, her daughter Caitlyn and husband Michael, granddaughter Ava. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a future date by invitation only.
