Mildred C. Mussante, 94, of Landover MD, passed away on February 3, 2022. 

She was born August 31, 1927, the youngest of 10 children born to Frederick Edward and Rose Ellen (Dustin) Mussante. She was affectionately known as Millie.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Magdlean Mussante of Waldorf MD, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by sisters Frances Stelestina, Pauline Virginia Walker (Clarence), Gloria Alyce Hunt (Joseph)  Margaret Mary Arnold (Daniel) and brothers Stephen Randolph (Cora), Dustin Brizzilla, Walter Marcus (Madeline), John Joseph, and a sister who died in infancy.

Millie graduated from Maryland Park High School and at the age of 17 began a long career with the US Government Department of Agriculture. While there she was the recipient of several awards. She interrupted her career in order to care for her ailing sister, returning again to work until retiring. 
She was a life-long member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church.

Millie lived her entire life in her childhood home with two siblings who also never married. The family grew up raising tobacco, and truck farming vegetables and flowers that they sold in Washington DC. Her greatest joys were visits from family and friends, reminiscing about her family, and being surrounded by her many cats. 

Millie will be deeply missed by her family, to whom she spent a life-time as a loving daughter, a devoted sister and a doting aunt.

Friends may call at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, 408 Addison Rd. S., Seat Pleasant, MD 20743 on Wednesday , February 16 from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial is offered at 11 a.m. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
