iriam Logwood Godsey, 88, a two and a half year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Urbana, OH died on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born August 1, 1923 in Lynchburg, VA, she graduated high school in Lynchburg, VA. Miriam was employed in a school cafeteria and as a department store sales clerk. She was a member of Memorial Methodist Church in Lynchburg, VA, Urbana United Methodist Church in Urbana, OH and the Red Hat Society. Miriam enjoyed painting, bird watching, bowling, sewing, tap dancing, line dancing and performing with the “Swinging Seniors” of Urbana, OH. In addition to Miriam’s many interests, her warm spirit and sense of humor brought joy and vibrancy to all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Godsey in 1983; a daughter, Brenda Donohoe and a grandson, Patrick Donohoe.
Miriam is survived by a son, Jim Godsey of New York, NY; a daughter, Marilyn Dooley of Arnold, MD;a granddaughter, Erin Donohoe of Cincinnati, OH and granddaughter-in-law, Cathy Donohoe of Dublin, OH. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, January 8 at 2:00pm. Interment will be private.
