Mollie Ester Hockaday (Tate) Clinton, Maryland Mrs. Mollie Ester Tate (Hockaday) 65, of Clinton, Maryland passed on Tuesday, August 15,2017 at Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, Maryland. She was born on September 2, 1951, in Halifax, North Carolina. To the parentage of Mollie E. Bowser Hockaday of Roanoke Rapids,N.C. and the late Tennyson Hockaday, Sr. who passed away August 14, 2017. She was a devoted worker with Wonder Bread Company until she retired. She is survived by her husband, Robert Tate; two loving daughters, Carolyn Hockaday of Clinton, Maryland and Deshawn Swann of Oxon Hill, Maryland. Loving step-daughter Tammy Tate; Three grandchildren Erneshia Gaitwood, Jatone Johnson and Santchai Williams. One great-grandchild, Jaloni Johnson.. Her sisters, Lorraine Mayo and Alice Moody of Roanoke Rapids, NC., Louise Barron of Richmond, Va., Ida Miles of Fayetteville, NC. and Bettie Tidwell (Michael) of Kissimmee, Florida. Her brothers; John E Hockaday (Elsie) of Gaston, NC., Sidney Hockaday of Roanoke Rapids, NC., and Fletcher Hockaday, Sr. (Evelyn) of Littleton NC., one uncle, Ralph Hockaday of Richmond, Va., one aunt Jenny Hockaday Jones (Charles), of Washington DC; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of cousins and other relatives, and many more close friends who loved her.
