Nadine Silva - Obituary

n Sunday, September 21, 2014, Deane gently passed into eternal rest in Silver Spring, Maryland. Beloved wife for 67 years of husband the late John L. Silva, Sr.; adored mother of James and Jeffrey Silva, Jennifer Pagliaro and late son, Lt. Col. John L. Silva, Jr.; loving grandmother of Gina, John and Lenny Pagliaro, Jr. and Maureen and Suzanne Silva; aunt to Nancy Speizer and Bob Gott, and mother-in-law to Mary Silva and Lenny Pagliaro. Dearly loved by a host of other relatives and friends. Deane was born on November 26, 1921 in Stockton, CA to loving parents, Jim and Margaret Sommers. In 1937, Deane met Jack, the love of her life and later attended University of the Pacific studying accounting before marrying Jack in Monahans, TX before Jack’s deployment to England for a combat tour in WWII. That began Deane’s 34 years as a strong and steadfast Air Force officer’s wife running their household and raising their four children with great love and care. Deane and husband Jack enjoyed and loved family, friends, and sailed the Chesapeake and beyond for 20 years together in retirement. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 2401 Brinkley Road, Fort Washington, MD for visitation at 1:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. Interment will take place at Arlington Cemetery at a future date to be determined.
