Nancy S. Marquand - Obituary

ancy S. Marquand, 92, a resident of Bay Hills in Arnold for 28 years and previously a resident of Severna Park, died at home on October 3, 2022. Born in Baltimore on January 26, 1930, to the late William J. and Anita H. Smith, Nancy grew up in the west Baltimore community of Windsor Hills. She graduated from Forest Park High School and attended Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College before her marriage to Warren D. Bourquin, Jr., in September, 1950. Her first marriage ended in divorce. She then married the late Edward B. Marquand, Sr., in 1971, and they made their home in the Linstead community in Severna Park. They later moved to Arnold. In addition to her family, Nancy loved tennis, golf, bridge, gardening, music, painting and reading. She was a founding member of the Hollyberry Garden Club in Severna Park and also volunteered at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. Nancy is survived by her son, Douglas D. Bourquin (Joan) of Severna Park; her stepsons, Michael L. Marquand, Sr. and Edward B. Marquand, Jr. (Michael Longyear) of Seattle WA; her granddaughters, Megan Bourquin (Jochen Weigele), Hannah Loureiro (Justin) and Julia Marquand (Rolando Avila); her grandson, Michael L. Marquand, Jr.; and her five great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, her parents and her two brothers, Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Bourquin. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nancy’s name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100N, Bethesda, MD 20814. All services will be private at this time.
